Partnership is the new leadership

In strategic partnership with Aurora, we’re developing commercially viable, safe, and efficient autonomous transport solutions for US highway applications. At the center of our partnership is the integration of the Aurora Driver with the autonomy-enabled Volvo VNL and the deployment of a solution that offers autonomous freight capacity for shippers, carriers, logistics providers, and freight brokers.

We have formed a strategic partnership with Rio Tinto to decarbonize Rio Tinto’s operations through piloting sustainable autonomous hauling solutions. The collaboration also includes a multi-materials partnership that aims to secure the responsible sourcing of materials like lithium, aluminum, copper, and metallics.

In partnership with Foretellix, we’re developing a coverage-driven verification solution for autonomous transport on public roads and in confined areas. The solution enables mass-scale testing of millions of different scenarios, which will validate the safety of autonomous vehicles and machines operating in a specific Operational Design Domain (ODD). The ambition of the partnership is to set a new standard in the verification of automated driving systems, reduce costs, and accelerate time to market for autonomous transport solutions.

In collaboration with Holcim Switzerland, we’re jointly testing and developing the use of autonomous electric haulers in a limestone quarry in Siggenthal, Switzerland. Through this partnership, Volvo Autonomous Solutions and Holcim aim to showcase the commercial viability of autonomous, connected, and electric transport solutions.
